The revised Aston Martin DBS.

without comments

There aren’t many cars out there that are worth more than a quarter of a million dollars, but if one were to judge based on appearances alone, then the 2009 Aston Martin DBS would most certainly be one of them.Very sleek lines and a lowered height make this car look lovely at the same time powerful like a sports car should be.

The 2009 DBS better be pretty though, because it will set prospective buyers back between two hundred and seventy and three hundred thousand dollars, but just as with any Aston Martin, there is more to this car than just a pretty face…

Beneath the hood of this beautiful specimen sits one powerhouse of an engine – a 5.9 liter V12, top speed of more than 190 mph propelled by that 510hp.To reach 60 in this new DBS you should be targeting a civilised 4.3 seconds.

The DBS’s initial launch into the automotive world was just eighteen short months ago, its beauty and performance took the driving world by storm then and Aston Martin hasn’t changed a whole lot since the original – they didn’t have to.

New for the second incarnation are the diamond turned wheels which, aside from being absolutely stunning, manage to take an impressive four and a half pounds of weight off per wheel – that coupled with a portion of the body being made from carbon make this version almost two hundred pounds lighter than the DB9 which it is partially patterned after.

The 2009 version also has an option for two rear bucket seats where the original just had a modest amount of storage behind the front seats. Which ever way Ashton Martin wanted to refine this car, in all honesty it is okay. Lets keep in mind this is not a mom’s taxi.

For drivers, like myself, who would rather be immersed in their favorite music than hearing the roar of the massive 510 horsepower V12 engine rumbling beneath the hood, the 2009 DBS comes with an absolutely out of this world sound system – a ten speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system that is truly capable of making ears bleed should you have the desire.

The 2009 DBS still uses the space age form of entry that every one fell in love with from the original – the ECU or “Emotion Control Unit” in lieu of using the more traditional keyed form or automobile entry.

If you have more than a quarter of a million dollars to spend on your next vehicle and are still having doubts about the Aston Martin DBS, ask yourself this – if it was good enough for James Bond to use (and destroy) not once, but twice how could it not be good enough for you.

Audi R8 V10.

without comments

Audi has truly outdone itself this time, no longer can Audi be considered the bridesmaid among the super-car brands – that’s right step aside Porsche, step aside Lamborghini – there could be a whole new bride in town.

The Audi team has really stepped up the latest version of their R8 to be viable competition with the other big boys on the circuit. With the V10 rated at 525 horse power, we are talking serious power. However Audi has taken the trouble of making the car very easy to drive.

This ultra powerful version of the R8 is capable of flying from zero to sixty mph in less than four seconds, but what makes it an even better alternative to the Porches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the world is that the power it brings is so nicely complemented by the incredible handling that you experience behind the wheel.

How Much?

The price tag on the 2010 Audi R8 has jumped almost as much as the quality of the car and at nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars the price is another close point of comparison between the new R8 and the Porsche 911.  The 911 though was often consider a poor rich man’s version of the Ferraris or Lamborghinis of the world, but the new R8 brings with it much too much to be considered second rate to anything.  Of course at one hundred and fifty thousand it is far from practical for even the wealthy, but this car is by far the most practical of any of the super-cars. The 2010 R8’s V10 engine (which uses much of the very same technology as that of the racing engine) is very well fast and powerful enough to be grouped among the other super-cars, but it’s a car you can feel comfortable and confident in driving every day.

The Look

As should be expected from a car with such a lofty price tag, the 2010 Audi R8 is beautiful both inside and out.The original R8 was fortunate enough to win car of the year in some countries due to its fresh looks. This time around Audi has beefed up the model.  The 2010 Audi R8 is all sleek lines and smooth contours on the outside and beautifully spacious leather interior with seats that it’s hard not to feel comfortable in.

The 2010 Audi R8 is most likely the only one of the super-cars that has enough space to stow enough luggage for a week long holiday with nearly seven cubic feet of storage available, and the space that is occupied is loaded with features you’d be hard pressed to find in a car with a smaller price tag.

There are any number of options in order to accessorize or customize the new R8, but in reality you don’t really need any of them – the stock model comes complete with heated seats, a GPS navigation system, an incredible sound system, automatic air and a built in alarm.

The 2010 R8 is off the charts when it comes to power, handling and performance but it also gets incredibly high marks in both safety and design further cementing its place at the top of the list for anyone who wants to own a super-car but has needs for an automobile that can be driven every day.

Own Your Dream Sports Car for an Affordable Price

without comments

Want to take a race with wind! Not a bad idea at all; only you need to have the right sports car to give you company. Cars are the most passionate possessions in the boy’s toy’s list especially when it comes to throwing challenge to the wind. So how do you find your dream sports car that gives you the height of joy at the top speed, yet comes for an affordable price? Well, here are a few useful tips to find out your sports car without burning a hole in your pocket.

Begin with the used cars

The most practical way of buying your car for most affordable price is to go for a used sports car. You can look for the classic sports cars like Fiat or Triumph,  which can be restored back to their old glory for little price. These pre owned cars will help you to save on your sports car budget without cutting down on your adrenaline rush at the time of wild driving of a sports car. Owning and driving sports car become really enjoyable when you know where to find the most lucrative deals. There are two surefire ways of finding your dream sports car at an affordable price.

Online auction

Ask around and most of the auto enthusiasts will let you know that the best place for finding your dream sports car is the internet auto auctions. If you really want to strike it big, then take a virtual journey through the online auction of eBay Motors— the largest online auction in the world. The vast range of comparison that you can experience here is really amazing. But the best thing about eBay Motors is: you can strike gold here by taking the advantage of some real good bargains.

However you should take notice of some important areas like shipment and model number before entering into any sort of commitment.

Deals through friendly car mechanic

One way of grabbing a great bargain is forging a rapport with your local car mechanic. He is the best person to supply you with valuable information about fabulous deals at an unbelievable bargain. Informing beforehand your mechanic about the sports car you are looking for will definitely help you to come across the sports car of your dream. The mechanic is a person to rely on so far as buying a used car is concerned because the mechanic has worked on the car and he knows the exact condition of the car.

Sometimes the car owners fail to foot the bill of the car repairing and in that case the mechanic gets back his money by putting the car for sale. This situation can offer you a particularly lucrative deal as it allows for great bargains.

In case you do not happen to find the sports car of your dream in pre owned market, keep an eye on the advertisements put up by the car dealers; sometimes car dealers offer big rebates and huge discounts that make for a really lucrative deal. Grab these offers to become the proud owner of a brand new sports car that won’t make you break the bank.
